Does anyone use any type of outdoor aerial trolley runs? We are saving for an actual fence but until we get one installed I was wondering about these. We live in a nice neighbor hood so not worried about anything getting to her. We worry more about her going into the neighbors yard and teasing their dog (who has an invisible fence) she loves to torment the poor dog
Bella loves to be outside (when it's nice and we are home) sometimes it's just not feesable for us to be out with her for as long as she wants. We are thinking about putting one of these up from our deck out to a tree in the yard. I want her to be able to come up on the deck and to the door so we would know when she was ready to come in. What do you think

I'd be afraid of someone stealing her, or in my area of the country, hawks! What if a big dog came into the yard(I had that happen) and got her??? When we were getting our new fence installed, we fenced in the deck,so that mine could go out and not have to worry.

I'm not worried about anyone stealing her. We know all of our neighbors and they know Bella. I'm not worried about other dogs either or birds of prey. She would never be outside by herself for long. She would also be out back, not out front. We are very protective (some even say over protective) of her. Sometimes she just is not ready to give up her stick or pine cone or wants to just lay in the grass. She also has a gate on the deck but she can't go potty or get her favorite nature chew toys if she's on the deck.

I'd be worried about Hawks and Owls (they can hunt during the day if prey grabs their attention). Hawks and owls - for our state, their "usual diet" - House cats! That is the first thing on the list!
The hawks by us have gotten very brazen. They used to circle over head.... Now they are actually perching on the fence and watching Grace while she potties! She is never out there alone! I'd say if you are going ot do that - make sure you are sitting out there with her.

I really think that small dogs should not be left unattended outside at all. It really is not safe. Our little one only has free access to our gated back deck if the kitchen door is open so that she can rush back in if need be.
I know its tempting to let Bella stay out alone until she's ready to come in, but tell her that there's another Bella one state up who's stuck with the same boring rule ~ no Mommy/Daddy outside then No Bella outside .

How about slipped collars, trolly cord wrapped around a leg and breaks it? Somebody tossing poison meat for her? Local wildlife looking for lunch?
In addition to what everybody else said. I for sure wouldn't do it.

I would not leave mine out either and we also live in a nice neighborhood. I have my deck fenced for them with a canopy overhead and I still keep an eye on them when they are outdoors.
