we live in a condo association that is heavily wooded and has some small lakes so there is lots of wildlife... ducks, geese, rabbits, chipmunks, raccoons, and even frogs and moles!! had heard about coyote sightings from various neighbors, and have read far too many heartbreaking tales of small dogs in neighboring suburbs who have been victims to coyotes (almost all happened when left in an unfenced yard without human supervision)... so ever since I have been super paranoid since we have no yard and have to take them out every 2-3 hours for pottying... I am especially paranoid at night.
But just now while bf and I were enjoying a late afternoon homemade brunch at the table, we saw a coyote trotting down the street RIGHT in front of our building.. where people go jogging and walk their pups... looked like he was just out for a Sunday afternoon stroll!! Needless to say, I am now going to be even MORE paranoid taking my pups out!! :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

We live in a neighborhood, but have a fox who visits our house frequently. It is a bit scary. I have only seen one coyote in our yard and he freaked me out. We put up a gate at our back deck stairs to discourage "natures explorers" from getting too close to Bella.

Yikes! I have a fenced yard but I live on a lake & there are a lot of hawks around, unfortunately. So when I let my dogs out I go out there with them & stay out there till they are done doing their business & playing. I hate those **** hawks.

We have lots of coyotes in our town too. They are completely unafraid of humans, and there have even been some reports of attempted attacks on people walking their dogs! I am constantly scanning our surroundings on walks.

Very scary. We have a number of coy dogs around the woods here. I did not even know they could interbreed until a local wildlife expert explained what the howling was.

I have heard of them scaling 6' fences... So scary.. Would at least feel safer with a fence but still can't leave dogs unattended... Read about a coyote trying to nab a dog but couldn't get it through the fence...
thankfully the dog survived!Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
