For those of you who don't know it, it doesn't rain in California from mid April until mid October. Every female dog I have had does not want to do her business outside if the ground is wet. Princess MiMi is the worst ever. She won't even get off the first step to the back yard. I had to put a pee pad down (outside) for her the last few days. Thank God she didn't get her wittle toesies wet.
Ray and Fifer would just run out, lift their leg and get it over with.

We will be picking up our 12 week puppy in 10 days. It is well below freezing here in Northern British Columbia and there is probably 4 feet of snow with much more on its way. We will be enjoying winter until at least April. I don't know how well Isabella will enjoy it. Training will be interesting.

Mimi.... I can't believe our Mommies expects us to pee outside in the rain! Don't they know we are too beautiful to get damp? I make my Mommy put a pad down too!

I live in Arizona.
We got Rocky three years ago as a tiny pup and around Christmas is our coldest time. Taking him out in 30 degree temperature at 2lbs. I thought he would freeze, so I would put on his little wool vest when I took him out to do his business. He learned very early because I was determined to get him trained as soon as possible. He did really well outdoors. It was ME that froze, LOL. Good luck..your temps are below freezing. I would clear off a little spot for her in the yard and take her to the same spot each time. Bundle up with something warm and take her out frequently so she gets the idea.Quote:
