Except for Hardy, all of mine did great in a crate next to my bed at night. Dewey has never got up once through the night, since I brought him home ,to go potty. He always slept through the night. Actually Violet was the same. Hardy had never been in a crate but even at that, it only took a couple of nights to get used to it.

Sophie sleep in a crate on the floor next to my side of the bed. She's fine as long as she can look up and see that I'm up in bed. She never had any accidents and we don't get up and go out in the middle of the night. Her first week she cried only when she woke up to get out of the crate, but now she is content just sleeping. She usually has a small soft toy in her bed so if she wakes up in the middle of the night se plays for a little and goes back to sleep. It works well for us since I am not a morning person. Now when I wake her up before 10 for her vet appointments, she looks at me like "why are you waking me up? I still need beauty rest!"
Last week it was abnormally cold in my room and I was incased in my covers from head to toe and Sophie woke up in the middle of the night. When she couldn't see me she started crying but the second I talked to her she was fine and went back to sleep! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Sadie stays in a crate right next to my bed and that's worked great. Her first night she slept straight thru because she was so tired from her trip up from Georgia. She woke up a few times for the next few weeks but usually settled down once I talked to her and stuck my fingers in the crate. Now she is so used to her crate that she refuses to sleep in bed with me :-/

I know how excited you probably are. We pick up our little girl, Isabella in a week. She will be 12 weeks on Friday. Our breeder suggests having her in a kennel next to our bed. She will also send a mommy-scented blanket and her litter box comforter (a white and pink stuffed pig) home with us. Perhaps you can talk to your breeder and ask about some mommy-scented items. Best of luck.
