My sister texted me yesterday asking what kind of gift card I would be interested in for Christmas, I replied with petco or petsmart! (Of course!) And she said she had thought of that, but that it would be something for the boys, not for me. She said she would just think of something.....

Seriously, purchasing things for the boys makes me happy, it's what I enjoy, they are my greatest and most expensive hobby. I would LOVE gift cards to spend more money on them.

I don't want things, I don't need things. Things collect dust, I'm not a huge clothing fan (my husband has more clothes than I do). Sure I like scented candles and body sprays but right now I'm stocked pretty well thanks.

I just don't need, stuff, you know? You guys run into this? Happens to me all the time. People just don't understand, I really really enjoy getting things for the dogs, it makes me very happy.

I hear you loud and clear!!!! my mother in law always does this and every year I tell her just get things for the little ones, but she never does.

OH ditto! I would love, more than anything, to get gift cards to my favorite pet stores for Christmas. Though I doubt any of my family members or friends would ever think of it.

It's funny, people will get you the silliest trinkets that (like you said, collect dust) and fail to understand that maybe we actually ENJOY shopping for our fluffs, and that in itself is a hobby.

I get the same thing! My mom doesn't understand why I have so many sweaters and jackets and toys for Sadie. She always tells me not to buy anything else...but then I see the cutest thing and just have to get it for my baby :-)

I asked for gift cards to Petco and Petsmart for my birthday, and my mom refused haha

How about Christmas Ornaments with their names? I always enjoyed getting those. Though one year, my Oscar will pass and it will heartbreaking opening the Christmas box seeing all his ornaments but his spirit will live on!

Anything Maltese always works for me.

You know, I said to my D/H a couple of days ago......I would rather have something that we can actually use, ie restaurant gift cards, gas cards, pet store cards instead of stuff that just sits around. Maybe she could get you a Visa gift card, that way you could use it wherever you choose.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Pat. Who wouldn't love a free night out eating or with the gas prices, not having to pay for it the next time you stop for gas?

I think I'm lucky to have one of the best bosses in the world. He always gives me a gift card to Petco, PetSmart or other local doggie stores as my Christmas present. It makes me feel that he really KNOWS me and my obsession and HE GETS IT!!!!
