I have Petplan....I find them to be reasonable and they pay fairly quickly. I don't think there is a vet out there that would take the insurance as payment....doesn't exist. If a time comes where its very expensive you can go through something callled CoreCredit. They pay for it and you pay them back. The vet will take that as payment you don't have to come up with the money. I never used it but a friend of mine did.

I have care credit. You can use it for yourself as well for dentists, etc....I used it 6 months ago for checkups and heartworm pills for Chlioe and Summer. They gave me 6 months to pay it off without any interest. I understand sometimes you get 12 months to pay it off.
I applied on-line and got an immediate answer. |

I have a question for anyone who has PetPlan. That's what I have for Lucy. I have the Bronze package which has a $100 deductable and pays 80% after that. So, when she had her infected anal glands a couple of weeks ago, the bill was $125. So I figured, "well $20 is $20" and thought I would file. When I tried to fill out the online form, it asked me for the total bill and what my plan was, and then it said "reimbursement: 0." I'm going to call them, but I have a whole list of annoying little phone calls I have to make and haven't gotten around to yet. Does anybody know if they have a minimum claim amount?
P.S. The reason I chose PetPlan was because they say the cover the luxating patellas (sp), which I worry about after reading this forum. |
