Im changing her from california natural to natural balance. She is free fed because I am gone 8 hours a day. I mix the food and when I come home, she has seperated her california natural from her natural balance. She eats all of the new food and leaves the old food scattered all over her pen. Im worried this will upset her tummy...

If she isn't experiencing signs of tummy distress, then maybe feed her the new food. I never transitioned Nikki's food and she's always been ok.

My malts did that each time I transitioned their food. It's like they're sick of tasting the old food, so they go straight for the new food. If she hasn't had tummy issues yet, she's probably fine.

I just switched London from Natural Balance Potato & Duck to their Sweet Potato & Venison formula, and she automatically picked out the new stuff and left the old food. I kept it mixed for a couple of days, and then just switched her over 100%. She likes the Sweet Potato & Venison flavor much better -- She never cared for the Potato & Duck too much.

I've never mixed foods, and have never had a problem.

Mine go from "what they ate", to "what they are going to eat".

I do switch off, between Wellness Venison, and Natural Balance Duck, for variety (along with fresh veggies, and fruits, for treats).

Jazz and Pixie both did that when I switched foods. Little buggers! Neither one has any tummy issues over it thankfully.

Mine did that too--only eating the new food. So last time when I transitioned them to NB Duck & Potatoes, I only added 1/4 of the new food. So after they finished picking out the new food, they stopped eating. But because they were still hungry, they went back to the bowl and continued to eat the old food. It takes me about 5-6 days to transition but I just didn't want them to have tummy ache or diarrhea.

Our babies do funny things with their eating habit. If she hasn't had a problem, I would just go for the new food totally~~~
