Need opinions for pet steps

Hi Everyone,

I would like to start saving up for some pet steps. I was wondering which brands were preferred. I bought a set that I am not happy with so I would love some advice. I have search this site and internet and there is so much out there. And alot of the options are expensive. I don't want to make another puchase mistake.

I love the ones made by Pet Stairz (Pet Stairs 5-Step by PetStairz). It is pricy. I bought the inexpensive ones you could buy at CVS, but really don't like it as it's made with plastic and feels flimsy. They also are not tall enough for a bed, so we only use it for the couch/sofa.

I made my own and I absolutely love them. They are very sturdy, I can even stand on them and they are extremely light weight. You can make them any height or width you like. All I used was insulated styrofoam and liquid nails. You can get these items at any store like Home Depot or Lowes.

I will send a picture as soon as I find one so you can see them. I did make my own cover also. If you know anyone that sews they could do it easily.

Wow Lynda!! Those are cool. They are pet steps that double as pet beds! I'd love to know how to make them.

i have the ones made by Pet Gear called easy steps (they come with 2, 3 o4 4 steps)

I got mine on ebay for around $35 and they were new.

I use a similar style as well- soft and foamy. I won these stairs at the silent auction at Nationals! I would recommend the soft stairs- Obi would not touch the plastic-y ones had I tried before. I didn't even have to teach him to use the soft one!

I bought the cheap 3 step set at PetsMart, and was given the 4 step set. She will use them, when they are in place. She likes to put her toys under anything, including the steps, and then takes the cover and drags them all over the house. They are that light weight. I have laminate floors, I guess that makes it easier for her to drag and push them around. I've been thinking about getting something heavier, more drag proof.

I will take pictures of the actual stairs and post instructions tomorrow. It is bed time right now.
