In loving memory of our Jack Russell, Buffy, Sept. 1998 - Dec. 2, 2011 and our cat, Bo, April 1994 - Dec. 2, 2011.
![]() ![]() My sweet Buffy girl, you were never sick a day in your life and at the age of 13 you suddenly developed a nasty productive cough and couldn't keep any food or water down. We went to the vet and xrays showed a large mass in your stomach AND on your lungs. I was in disbelief. How could this be happening? How did I not know you were so sick? And Bo, my monster boy, kidney disease had been taking it's toll on your body for quite a while but I hadn't yet found the courage to do what I knew must be done. When we got the devastating news on how sick Buffy was and the vet said her time left was very very short and that she was in pain, we made the heart wrenching decision to send them both to The Bridge, together. If it should be that I grow frail and weak And pain does keep me from my sleep Then will you do what must be done For this.......the last battle...... can't be won I spent that last day holding Buffy on my lap all day and telling her how sorry I was for what I knew I had to do and how much I loved both of them. That evening as the sun set, on the hardest day of my life, we made that dreaded trip to the vet. I miss both you guys so much and it still hurts so bad, but I know that even though I can't see you, you are watching over me every day. I stood beside your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear. "Its me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here" I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea. You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore. I want to take your parcels, I wished I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care. I want to reassure you that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for the key, I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me". You looked so very tired and then you sank into a chair, I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there. Its possible for me to be so near you everyday, to say to you with certainty "I never went away". You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew That in the stillness of that evening I was very close to you. The day is over.... I smile and watch you yawning and say, " Good Night, Sweet Dreams, God Bless, I'll see you in the morning". And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide I'll rush to greet you and we'll stand, together side by side. I have so many things to show you, there's much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out; then come home and be with me. |

Kathy reading this made me think of my pets that have gone on. It is heartbreaking to do, but it's what has to be done, so there is no more pain or sickness. Buffy and Bo were adorable, and they're running and playing at the bridge.

Oh my, you have me in tears! I know how hard it is to lose one at a time, but two in the same day? That is just so sad and I'm am so sorry! At least they are no longer in any pain or sickness and I hope you can take comfort in knowing that.

I know that must have been a most difficult decision to send both of your babies away together, but such a loving, caring idea. Sending you love & peace in your memories today, dear friend.

Dearest Kathy ...
I was so touched reading your tribute to your beloved Buffy and Bo. I can only begin to imagine how difficult this day has been for you. I felt as though I wanted to do something different for you and your beloved fluff angels ... something that I never thought of doing before. I lit two candles ... one each for Buffy and Bo. And, I said a prayer that you will feel the love of Buffy and Bo surround you. Our wedding anniversary was this past Tuesday ... and, my darling husband had given me a beautiful bouquet of roses. I just placed them in two smaller vases ... so that they could be there by the candles ... to represent love ... and to pay tribute to your precious fluff babies ... Buffy and Bo. I hope you enjoy the pictures. In Loving Memory Of Buffy and Bo ...
