I just have to post a memorial to dear Chomper. In 2002 I did one of the best things I ever did, with a lot of help from my friends. My father was in his mid-eighties and alone. His wife was in a home, because of advancing Altheimers and he was alone and very sad. My father gave me my love of nature, animals, dogs, pets. But he had never really had his very own dog. We had family dogs, but he didn't have his very own fluff butt.
I had tried to persuade him to get a dog, but he had all the lame excuses...lame excuses. Now, I have to give a lot of credit to my friend, since 7h grade...she is a Taurus and a bull for sure. I would have given up, but the bull kept insisting. We checked all the shelters. We found a newspaper ad. We took my father to meet the dog...under false pretenses. He refused. Later I overheard him talking to his step daughter on the phone. He said that we should have just brought the dog to him. So we did. I am trying to make this beautiful story short so that I don't bore you .

Okay, I have to cut to the end. Father died. Dog went to live with my aunt. Her life was full of joy because of this angel dog. He was her baby boy. He was her joy. And now he is gone.

I'm sorry that I just didn't want to write the whole story. You would have been moved, but it is a long story.

What I want to do is praise dear Chomper for the life he dedicated to older people. To praise him for the joy he gave my father and my aunt. He was a character. He was loved. He was surely an angel. Now, dear Chomper is at the Bridge. Perhaps he is with my father, covering his face with happy kisses.

My poor Aunt Mary is in excruciating pain at having lost her little boy. A pain many of us know.

I just had to post a tribute to a very special angel...Chomper...RIP

Aww, even though you didn't tell us the whole story, it's still touching. Chomper does look like he was full of personality and I'm sure he is greatly missed. Thank you for sharing with us!

Sylvia....what a great story. Most of us do know the love a fluff can bring and then again the sadness and heartache when they are gone. I am sure Chopper is now with your Dad. It really is so hard to lose a loved one whether human or pet. Thank you for sharing such a heart warming story. Hugs to you and your fluffs!!

Aww Chopper, you look like a little character! I'm sure you brought happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing you? Run free at the bridge little guy! My condolences to your aunt. We know the loss and emptiness that you feel when you lose a beloved pet.
