Yes, it's true. My girl died peacefully in her sleep, with all of us in bed, just like always.
It was a long weekend. By yesterday Crisse didn't want to eat anything. I kept putting applesauce on my finger and putting it in her mouth. She was still drinking water, so I was happy about that. Crisse and I went to bed at 12:30 am, I awoke at 5:30 am and Crisse was gone, her eyes were closed. I sat on the couch and held her and patted her back, like always. Told her how much I loved her. I put her down on the couch after a while and let my babies say goodbye. At 6:30 am, Steve carried Crisse in his arms and took her to get cremated. He was hysterical. I actually told him to have them make sure our girl died. I stayed home because I didn't want to leave my babies alone. Crisse had an 8:40 am Vet appointment today, I guess she didn't want to go. I'm so happy Crisse wanted to be with us at the end, just like always. I pray she didn't cry out or anything, because I didn't hear her. We celebrated her every day for the past 7 years. We will celebrate her in our hearts forever. 4 pm this afternoon my Steve was admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital because of a rectal bleed. I just came home. He'll have a colonoscopy tomorrow and try to stop the bleeding. Hopefully it's just diverticulitis. Sorry, I don't have the patience for proper spelling right now, even though it will bother me later. Steve is in good spirits overall, no pain. All we did is talk about our Crisse. We hit the jackpot with her, we are blessed to have loved her. For the first time ever, I just came home without Crisse greeting me with my babies. Crisse was our old lady, the Queen. I f'ing hate this so much. Here's my girl when she used to smile:

Oh Kerry, I'm crying. But I have to tell you, I used to wish Lola would just go in her sleep peacefully so I didn't have to make that hard decision. She passed with the people she loved and who loved her. I love you Kerry, and I know Crisse is smiling her biggest smile and peeing hearts wherever she is! This is for you sweetie:

Oh Kerry i'm so sorry to hear about your sweet and precious Crisse...it seems like yesterday that you were celebrating her 7 year gotcha anniversary. Crisse was a very lucky girl and couldn't have asked for a better mommy and daddy. RIP Sweet Crisse...you little smiley girl!
![]() ![]() Please keep us updated on Steve...praying that it's just the diverticulitis and nothing too serious. ![]() ![]()

I am deeply sorry for your loss of Crisse. I know this pain all to well myself. It is never easy to let these precious ones go but I can tell your strong love for her and know that she knew how very much she was loved by you and Steve. Praying he is okay and his colonoscopy will come back all clear. Crisse will rest in peace comforted by your undenying love for her. Kisses and hugs to you Kerry.

I'm so sorry Kerry. Please know how terribly sad I am to hear your news about Crisse. I'll also be thinking of and praying for Steve (and you spelled diverticulitis right) because I know how painful it can be-- I get that affliction too.
