Lisa I saw your post question about ticks that was dated in March.. I hope you have gotten some answers about preventions. Of course there are allot of opinions.. I worked at a vet hospital for over 4 years and there are dangers to ticks and mosquitoes. Even inside dogs can be bit by a mosquito and get heartworms. A dog can have heartworms and there be no signs of it for a long time. All the time worms are growing and inside the heart..dangerous and fatal if left untreated. Very expensive to treat but not expensive to give the monthly prevention. Fleas are extra nasty in they multiply VERY fast and can infest a home. If a dog or cat swallows a flea they get tapeworms. Cheap flea preventions sold at "dollar" stores can cause reactions. I saw it way too much esp. with cats. while at vet hospital. Educate yourself and make a wise choice. Jeanne
