I've got a question about switching between different flavors of food within a specific brand. Micky seems to really like the Wellness canned food. But I'm wondering if I can switch back and forth between the various flavors. There's Duck and Sweet Potato, Chicken and Sweet Potato, Lamb and SP, Fish and SP, Turkey and SP, etc... Have any of you ever had any problems switching just the flavors? I know with a different brand you should use a slow transition, just wondering about within a specific brand. Overall, since we got him, its been like this.... smpullhair.gif and a little of this... smilie_tischkante.gif as far as feeding goes. He was on Iams Natural Blends kibble when we got him, and I wanted to get him onto something healthier, so switched him to Wellness for Small Breeds dry, but he will only eat it when mixed with the canned, and even then sometimes he spits out the kibble and just eats the canned. Thanks for any help. I've been feeling a little yield.gif lately about the food issue.

In the past, we've tried mixing together two different flavors within the same brand as well as different brands of kibble all together in one bowl with no digestive problems whatsoever. We homecook for Uno now but he'll have his rare picky days. This has worked for us - try wetting the kibble with warm water or adding in a little bit of unsweetened applesauce or well-chopped fruits and veggies for added interest. Every dog is different so you may have to see what works best for your baby. I would also recommend you stick to flavors/brands with the same approximate protein, fat, carb content, etc. so you know how much your baby is getting nutritionally especially if maintaining weight is an issue. Good luck.gif

I feed my kids the Merrick canned foods. Mostly the Turducken, but I always have other types of the Merrick foods on hand. I'll feed them a different flavor maybe once a week....just to make sure the Turducken is still their favorite.....and to mix it up alittle. They've never had a problem.

Hope that tiny bit of information helps... blush.gif
