Default Eva's Vaccine Story

B.D. 10/17/11 adult weight 5 pounds

Eva came to me in January 2012 at the age of 12 weeks..she received a DAPP-CPV on 2/08/2012...on March 1, 2012, she received the Merial TF one year Rabies vaccine...after that, she seemed fine, although over time she very slowly became quieter and less active..a few months before she was due for her checkup, I noticed that her gums began bleeding when I brushed her teeth..I thought maybe I was brushing too hard...she became due for her checkup and 3 yr Rabies..she was acting tired by this time and would stay in her bed after meals. I took her in for a chem panel and CBC in February of 2013. When they took her blood, she bruised badly and her gums were pale...she had thrombocytopenia.(low platelets) This is what was causing her gums to bleed..She saw a board certified internist who told me that her low platelets could be due to a vaccine...her platelets have slowly improved..however, they are still low..and she must be monitored..for this reason, I will not vaccinate her again..(Eva is the one in the middle of the pic)

April, I can't say it enough. You are such a good mom. I know all the care that you give to your babies and all the research you do. You are a strong advocate for your babies.
