Rules of Spoiledmaltese.com
These are the terms and rules agreed to as a member of SpoiledMaltese.com
Forum Terms & Rules
SpoiledMaltese.com (SM) is owned and operated by VerticalScope (VS). Please take the time to review our rules detailed below and if you agree with them and wish to proceed with the registration, simply click the "Register" button below. To cancel this registration, simply hit the 'back' button on your browser.
Once you have registered, it is a good idea to review the rules again. The rules can be found in every forum area of this site.
Please be aware that every single potential issue cannot possibly be covered in this document. Be reasonable and use common sense in your participation here. If in doubt about a particular matter, please contact an admin or mod.
The Spoiled Maltese forum is free. However, we do offer two choices of premium memberships, which members can join at any time after registration by paying $20 per year for one year or $50 for a Lifetime membership. The many benefits of being a paying member can be seen here:
Signature and Avatar:
Each member can have an avatar photo and signature. For non-paying members the avatar size is 100x100; for paying members it is 140x140.
The signature size for all members is as follows:
1. Width: 600 pixels wide or less (all pics combined)
2. Height: 300 pixels tall or less (all pics combined)
If your signature is too large you will be asked to reduce its size and in some cases site management will make the reduction.
Only ONE account is allowed per person. Creating multiple usernames to deceive or otherwise appear to be someone that you are not is grounds for a warning, suspension or permanent ban from SM.
If someone living or visiting in your home also wants to join SM, you must contact an Administrator to let them know beforehand. Not doing so will make it appear that one person has two usernames, due to a shared IP address, and we will treat it as such with a warning, suspension, or ban from SM for both usernames.
You are solely responsible for your own posts and agree not to allow other individuals to log on to SM using your account. Accordingly, you will be held accountable for any posts/PMs/or Emails appearing under or originating from your personal SM account.
Treatment of Admins and Moderators:
Except for one employee of VS, the site?s admins and moderators are volunteers who give their time to help keep the site running smoothly. It is expected that you treat all admins and mods with respect. Being argumentative and/or ?difficult? in dealing with an admin or mod can result in a warning, suspension or ban.
Treatment of SM?s Members:
You are to treat all members with respect. Follow the old saying, ?If you don?t have anything nice to say, don?t say anything at all.? It is fine to disagree with another member, but do so respectfully. You may respectfully attack a member?s point of view but do not attack the member personally.
In addition, games being played, whether in posts, in siggies, on profile pages, in PMs, in emails, chat, instant messages or by phone ... whether obvious or underhanded ... will not be tolerated here at SM. Those who don?t know how to ?play nice? will be warned, suspended or banned.
Notwithstanding anything else stated herein, SpoiledMaltese.com has the right to remove, edit, move or close any posting or thread at any time for any reason, at its discretion and without explanation or notification.
If your post or thread was removed, do not start a thread asking why. This action will subject you to warning, suspension or ban. If a thread or post is removed, it means that the admin or mod removed it in the best interest of the forum?s community and no explanation will be forthcoming.
Threads that appear to be started for the purpose of creating drama or mischief on the forum will be removed and the member starting such a thread and those whose posts fuel the drama or mischief will be subject to being warned, suspended or banned. This includes "good-bye" posts stating you are leaving SM or are thinking about leaving SM. Also included are posts stating that another member has left or is thinking about leaving and posts asking where certain members have gone.
Discussions on the topics of religion or politics are not allowed at all on this forum.
While it is the intention of SM administration to monitor threads generally, we cannot view every post in every thread, and it is your responsibility to bring to our attention anyone violating our rules.
Personal opinions on all topics are both welcomed and permitted. While friendly debates between members will be allowed a certain amount of leeway, personal attacks and name calling are not permitted and will not be tolerated.
If you have an issue with a member or their post, please contact the member privately or contact a moderator or admin. Do not take your issue on to the public forum.
Keep your posts on the topic of the thread. Off-topic posts are subject to being removed from the thread without notice or explanation.
Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by using the ?Report Button?. If we determine that removal is necessary, we will make every effort to remove objectionable messages within a reasonable time frame.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise a violation of any law.
You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board. If you post a portion of material not written by you, always include the author?s name and the URL from where it originally appeared, so it is clear where the information originated.
Spoiled Maltese is not responsible for any messages posted. The posts express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any post, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. Messages posted are the opinion and responsibility of the person making the post. Neither SpoiledMaltese.com, nor its owner(s), agents, employees and/or administrative staff are responsible for any messages posted nor the consequences of following any advice or instruction offered within forum posts. You agree not to hold SM liable for statements made within the forums.
If a member wants to start any ?activity? involving SM?s membership, the member must contact an admin for approval, giving the details of the proposed project. This refers to events such as Secret Santa, gift exchanges, rescue raffle and the like. Approval is needed each time that the event is requested to take place. Threads that promote events without having prior approval will be subject to being removed and the member warned, suspended or banned.
Soliciting Charitable Donations:
Any time money is requested from SM?s membership for a charitable donation, approval must be obtained from the forum administrator. Any money collected for a charity must go directly in to the charity?s PayPal account and not to the individual spearheading the solicitation of donations.
Under no circumstances is the direct selling of any animal allowed on SM.
We do allow selling of other items by approved Vendors.
Please see our Vendor forum for rules regarding other selling on SM.
For members who have an item to sell now and then, you may use our Buy/Sell/Trade forum. Please read our rules before posting an item.
Soliciting your items for sale via our Private Messaging system is prohibited and can result in a warning, suspension or ban.
Soliciting for stud service is not allowed and threads advising the community about available puppies from breeders is NOT allowed.
Breeders Display of Kennel Name and Web Site:
Breeders may add their kennel name and put a link to their site in their User Profile page.
Breeders may use their kennel name as their SM username.
However, breeders may not promote their kennel in any way in their signature, avatar area, etc. ... any area that shows up when posting. If these do appear, they will be removed by the site Admin without notification.
Repeated violations of this rule will result in a suspension of the user's privileges and/or an outright ban.
Private Messaging System (PM):
Spoiled Maltese makes available a Private Messaging system for its members to use to communicate with each other privately. The PM system is not to be used to harass members and if we are notified that a member is using the system for this purpose, that member will be subject to a warning, suspension or ban.
Private messages are considered to be confidential messages between members and it is in bad form to refer to the message publicly on the forum either by quoting or paraphrasing the message or part of the message. In most cases, in fact, it is inappropriate to even indicate that someone sent you a private message. Use common sense and do not breach the trust of the member or admin/mod who has corresponded with you in good faith.
Soliciting items for sale via our Private Messaging system is prohibited and can result in a warning, suspension or ban.
Spoiled Maltese will not tolerate the posting of private correspondences between users on this site. This means you CANNOT post emails, Facebook messages, or any other private conversations between you and another user on SM in a thread. If this is reported, it will result in an automatic suspension and may lead to a permanent banning of your account. The only exception applies to all parties in the private correspondence agreeing to allowing it to be posted publicly.
SM has some pinned threads written to help our members ... Please check at the top of each sub-forum for these valuable threads.
