Heart New baby boy ~ South Africa

Hi there all the maltese pawrents and admin. My name is Wenessa. I'm the proud new mommy of a beautiful baby boy of six weeks. His "breeders" took him to be euthanized on Saturday as they were leaving for holiday and the buyer had dropped them.😡. I intervened and they angrily shoved him into my hands saying then I must take him before driving off. I immediately took him inside for a medical and vaccinations. He was riddled with fleas... needless to say my poor baby had worms as well. Despite this bumpy start, he's really healthy and absolutely sweet. I've been going through an extremely traumatic divorce (with many intentional delays), from a narcissistic husband of 27 years. So I truly believe that this baby was sent by God to bring comfort and companionship. Would love help with a name please? Something sweet like Charlie perhaps? Looking forward to interacting with everyone on here.

Fondest love
Wenessa and her new little baby boy

Hi Wenessa, relate to your problem. Remember the gray stone concept. You only ever show a gray stone face to them. They are hoping for reaction good or bad no matter. Pretend calm and detachment.
Your little boy is beautiful. Congrats to you for saving him. It is a new year and so is he.
6 weeks is very young for a Maltese baby. Reputable breeders hold puppies for 12 weeks.
Worms cause malnutrition. Feed hi quality to make up in puppyhood. I did very young puppy fosters. So I know worm infestation young robs nutrients. I used hi quality food to compensate. It worked. I name my personal pets old family names. Good associations.
Happy holidays!

Welcome, Wenessa and little baby puppy! I think it was definitely fate that brought you two together Great advice from Saylor re: good nutrition needed from the worms and being taken from his mom way too early.

Charlie is an adorable name. Here are some other cute ones.

It sounds to me like the last chapter in your life will be turning around into a love filled new chapter!! Congratulations on your new baby! I know what living with a pain in the butt person is like. When I think I can't stand it anymore, I just add another dog. I'm at 5 right now, a few have passed on and I've added a few...they have the ability to make you smile and be happy.

Omg, that's awful of his breeders! So glad you were able to save him, he's a lucky little guy! I'm also so sorry to hear you've been dealing with a narcissistic person, my heart goes out to you. I do think it's pretty magical timing that this sweet little pup has come into your life! I think Charlie is a really cute name! I think dogs with classic/traditional human names are adorable haha it's got a special kind of charm to it.

I'm new to the breed and will be getting a puppy soon so I'd definitely refer to the ladies above for health advice!

What horrible people. It has to be fate that brought you to that place at that time. Thank goodness. You may supplement Ensure Plus with good quality puppy food to keep caloric intake up. Please keep us posted.
